DEFINITION

Lifecycle Cost

The total cost of a product or service over its entire lifespan, including acquisition, operation, maintenance, and end-of-life costs. Directive 2014/24/EU explicitly permits contracting authorities to use lifecycle cost as an award criterion, promoting value-over-time evaluation.
